SCAT Equipment Rental:
Members working on commercial projects, or projects not intended for cablecast on SCAT Channel 3, may rent SCAT's equipment.

SERVICES FOR NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS
SCAT recognizes that non-profit organizations provide essential services to the residents of Somerville. As a community service, SCAT helps them further their missions with outreach to the community, clients, and funders. These services are either free or very low cost. SCAT reaches thousands of Somerville residents (20,000 households) with information that is totally controlled by the non-profit organization.

Talking About Somerville
SCAT helps Somerville social service organizations and agencies create half-hour talk shows about issues of concern or services that they offer. Every month a different non-profit is featured as part of the series, Talking About Somerville. Each program is cablecast during prime time for four weeks, which provides substantial exposure. The shows are also posted on the Web at talkingaboutsomerville.blogspot.com for on-demand viewing. Somerville organizations that have participated in “Talking About Somerville” have been very pleased with the response they have gotten from their shows. They are free to use the shows for other purposes as well, such as distributing the studio show as a DVD to clients and potential funders.

Public Service Announcements
SCAT helps member organizations produce professional one-minute public service announcements (PSAs) at a very low cost, $100. These PSA’s run on Channel 3 between programs for one year. The PSA’s may also be repurposed for distribution on the Web or on public access channels in other towns.

Community Bulletin Board
SCAT provides access to its Community Bulletin Board at no charge for non-commercial event listings. This is great way to advertise charity events, school open-houses, health-related information sessions, and community workshops. Posting messages is easy, just fill out the on-line form from the programming page of the SCAT website.

Specialized Training
SCAT will schedule special training sessions for organizations that want to learn to produce their own programs, either in the field or in the SCAT studio. If your non-profit could benefit from any of these services, contact SCAT at 617-628-8826.
