SCAT equipment use is FREE to all members for all non-commercial projects to be aired on SCAT Channel 3. (See membership info for details). SCAT does provide a low-cost alternative to those interested in renting video equipment and/or facility time to use on projects not intended for cablecast on SCAT Channel 3. An individual or group may rent equipment or facility time at SCAT under the following conditions:

1. The Individual or group must be a member of SCAT. If the individual or group is not an existing member, they must sign up as a Contributing Member, with a yearly fee of forty dollars for an individual and $100 for an organization. Residency in Somerville is not required.

SCAT Equipment Members, Organizational Members and non-profit organizations are entitled to reduced rental rates.

2. Upon reserving equipment and/or facility time, the individual or group must leave a 20% deposit. If a cancellation occurs up to 72 hours before the scheduled reservation, the deposit is refunded in full. If the individual or group cancels after that time, or does not show up at all, the deposit is forfeited. The deposit is applied toward the final total of the rental, which is due at the time of the rental.

3. The person renting the equipment and facilities must have had appropriate experience using the items to be rented.
